Denture Teeth
Prosthetic teeth are applied as a result of damage or loss of the gums and tissues around the teeth due to different reasons. Denture tooth are prepared individually. Thanks to these teeth, the person can regain the chewing functions in a healthy way by having the teeth that are the beginning of the digestive system.
Prosthetic teeth also allow you to improve speech and have an aesthetic smile. Prosthetic teeth produced in accordance with the person's oral structure can also be defined as artificial teeth, which can be used comfortably, fixed in the mouth or easily inserted and removed. You will get used to it in a short time. At first, the feeling of fullness or looseness in your mouth is normal. This period is also called getting used to. During this period, the cheek muscles and tongue of the person get used to the prosthesis and we do not need any extra effort to keep the prosthesis in place after the acclimation period.
Types of prosthetic teeth
1) Fixed dental prosthesis
Fixed dental prostheses, which are made by sticking into the mouth, do not come off of the person's own will after they are made. Prostheses produced using the person's own teeth are usually applied to people with less tooth loss.
It is heard that it takes about 10 days to prepare and replace fixed prostheses. During this period, the patient has to go to the dentist 4-5 times. Prostheses, which differ in their useful life according to the material they contain, are also reduced in size and precision measurements are taken. The color of the dental prosthesis is decided together with the patient. At this point, it is necessary to pay attention to the harmony of the color of the prosthesis with the existing teeth.

- Zirconium Restorations Today, it is the most preferred dental prosthesis material. It is a metal element with white tones. Zirconium-coated teeth stand out with their functionality and aesthetics as well as their durability. and has a natural shine. It can be safely applied to teeth with enamel loss, prostheses on implants, tooth crowding or separation where orthodontic treatment is not possible.
- Laminate Restorations:In the laminate restoration process, which is applied to the front of the tooth by sticking porcelain in thin leaf shapes, the rate of intervention to the teeth is very low. The laminate process is applied to the front teeth. This process is applied for reasons such as closing the colors in the teeth, hiding the gaps in the teeth, and correcting the appearance caused by the fracture.
2) Movable dental prosthesis
Removable dental prostheses, which can replace missing teeth and are defined as appliances, can be inserted and removed by the patient himself. Even if there are natural teeth, if sufficient support for fixed prosthesis cannot be found, this method is applied. Support is provided from existing teeth and tissues during the application. .
- Total Prostheses:It is the type of prosthesis that is preferred when the patient has no teeth in his mouth. It is applied to the lower and upper jaw separately and support is provided with the existing bone tissue. Total prostheses, which are mostly made of acrylic, are also known as false teeth. It is very normal to feel foreignness in the mouth, fullness on the lips and cheeks. Since the lower prosthesis has more movement than the upper prosthesis, it may take longer to get used to the lower prosthesis. In the first days, the amount of saliva increases due to the stimulation of the glands. Differences in speech are extremely normal. Getting used to speaking It is recommended to read aloud and to repeat the words that you have difficulty in pronunciation persistently. The familiarization period is about 4-6 weeks.
- Partial Prostheses:Partial denture, which is applied in cases where some of the natural teeth are missing, is also known as hooked dental prosthesis. The patient can insert and remove it if he/she wants. Partial denture, which can also be defined as a partial denture, provides functionality as well as an aesthetic appearance when attached to the missing or missing teeth. Partial dentures are produced from acrylic and one-piece casting. They are attached to the existing teeth with crochet wires. In order to prevent wire appearance, precision-connected aesthetic prostheses are applied.
- Immediate Prostheses:They are also known as temporary prostheses. When these prostheses, which are made to eliminate the aesthetic concerns caused by the extraction of natural teeth, are first made, swelling occurs in the oral tissues. These tissues must return to normal before the permanent prosthesis and then be applied. During this process, the patient's permanent prostheses are also prepared. After the healing of the tissues is completed, the immediate prostheses become incompatible with the mouth and permanent prostheses are applied to the person.
- Implant Top Prostheses:The implant is a screw-like metal structure produced from titanium alloy in the patient's jawbone in cases of tooth loss.
The implants, which act as the tooth root, increase the strength of the prosthesis on it, while ensuring its attachment. Thus, the person's final prosthesis is attached to the implants in the jawbone, thus increasing chewing and speaking functions.
